Paint. Not Toilets. Sorry.

So I am on a mission. I have decided to paint my main floor again. Everything except the Dark Chocolate brown wall. I love color and had painted the kitchen red and the rest of the main floor yellow but everyone has yellows and reds in their house right now. I in typical fashion am mot a fashion follower. It bugs me when I have the same stuff everyone else has. So, not many people have a chocolate brown wall. I have decided to go creamy beige to go along with my dark wall. The problem is this. I can't find the right color yet. I have now tried 2 colors with pretty much disaster results. Luckily I have not painted much but at this rate my wall is going to start looking like a shrine to giraffe print if I am not careful.

Anyway, the dark brown is what you seen in the right hand corner. The yellow is what I will be painting over. The darker color is the color I had initially chosen (thank you Walmart return policy) and the lighter color is one that I used before and was sure was a warmer color than it looks against the brown. Ugh. I hate choosing color. I wish I could somehow enter it into some database and have it just spit out my options according to my desires. Unfortunately it won't so my plan for tomorrow is to go to Lowes and see if I can find choice C and hopefully not have to come up with a choice D, E, and F. Wish me luck.

PS. Don't you love the computer bag sitting next to the couch? I wish I could dictate where my husband decided his nightly resting place would be for the ugly thing but no such luck.

I do like seeing his feet propped up though. It is a great Sunday evening activity to rest your feet for awhile before starting another crazy week!

I'm thinking stay with a lighter shade since the brown is so dark. Good luck on your quest!

Good luck with the painting. I can't wait until I get to choose what to paint my walls. It seems like it would be fun.

What I Would Tell My Younger Self

Last week was a really tough week for our Bishop and family. First, my husband went out of town on business and it happened to overlap with our daughter and her babies visiting us. So, three days that she was here, he didn't get to see her. Then, he flew back into town Wed. around town and then we drove our daughter to the airport Thursday morning at 4:30. Yes, that is early, and yes, we did go back to bed when we got home. ;o) Then he worked all day Thursday and I will spare you the details but it was a bad day. His non-boss boss was in a foul mood and he got the brunt of it.  Thursday evening he had the yearly ward audit and didn't get home until close to 10. Friday was another fun filled day at work, and then Friday evening and Saturday were filled with youth conference which he attended and was a chaperone for during the entire event. Sunday was a rough "bishop" day that he couldn't talk about, and quite frankly, I didn't want to hear about.  That leads us...

Officially in the Limelight!

I had an interesting experience this evening. Without divulging more than I should, let's just say that I was told that people in my area are concerned that I have not kept my information about the stake changes private until the appropriate time. They were concerned that because I dated my blog post for the date of my writing some people thought that I had said something before the stake split announcement. Let me assure you that this isn't the case. I date my posts for the day that I write them but I didn't post them until Nov. 9th, the afternoon of the day of Stake conference. With that being said, this experience brought to my attention how much being a bishop's wife really is somewhat like being on show for everyone. Sometimes you are scrutinized and it is good, and sometimes it isn't so good.  I felt truly inspired to write and keep this blog so that people can get an idea of what a normal bishop's family is like. This however can be difficult because I ...

My job at Costco The incredible people I have been able to meet at Costco who I now call friends My sweet, cute, adorable children My wonderful, amazing, hard working, handsome husband The roof over my head The groceries in my cubboard Our second vehicle which gets 40mpg! My amazing parents and their example to me My siblings, neices, and nephews My extended family The restored gospel of Jesus Christ My relationship with my Savior and my knowledge of the Atonement My health The friends that have come into my life and changed me for the better Life I thank my Heavenly Father daily for the tender mercies he has given me and for the abundant blessings that he has bestowed upon me. Life is truly wonderful, and even more wonderful when I recognize how wonderful it really is!
