7th Weigh In

Another week another pound. I am happy about it. I am getting to the hard part though. Day in day out, the same food. I did really good on eating out this week which I am excited about and I think my stomach is shrinking, but I am tired of the mind battle. I know I need to get to the gym, I think I wouldn't have the mind battle if I was working out. The hard reality is that I am not going to be where I would like to be by the wedding, and that is ok, I just need to start looking for a dress and stop stressing about what I am going to look like in it. Not that it isn't important I just stress more than I am sure I need to. So, goals for this week are...water, water, water. I am horrible at getting enough in and I know it.

You're doing great Becky! I was noticing in the pictures from the museum that your face is looking thinner and you can tell you've lost weight!

When I was at Allyse's Bridal Saturday I noticed some dresses that might work for the wedding. There are these beautiful shirt/jackets that tie to the side. It looked like something you'd like and will probably still work as you get thinner. The skirt is long. The only thing is the color is taupe. I was looking for them on-line (beautifullymodest.com) and there are other dresses that are really pretty too and are ivory in color. Good luck!

Hey Becky. This is kind of funny, because every time I cut a watermelon now I think of you.....and Rachael because at camp last year she was telling us how you cut off the top and then cut the rind off. I thought it was a great idea and so I do that now! I did it tonight in fact. I just think it's funny that you can have an influence on someone without even knowing it. Good luck with the water intake! ;)

Becky, I am so amazingly in love with you. I love you for who you are, what you have done, and what you will become. I can honestly say that I am who I am today because of you. I love you, I love you, I love you.

Keep up the good work! You are doing great. I know we can do it!

ps. I LOVE YOU!!!
Hey...a pound is a pound. Don't be discouraged. You look great! You know what always helps me to drink water? I get a big 32 ounce mug filled with water and I leave it on the counter so during the day when I see it, I remember to take a few sips..I go through about 2 a day. Sad thing is that I'm sure someimes I drink close to the same amount of Diet Pepsi..and I wonder why I can't lose any weight! :)

Hey Becky... that cheese I was trying to remember is Laughing Cow Cheese. It's 1 point a wedge. They have it at Costco... but you can get the flavored kind at other stores. I like the garlic herb...and yes, that is why I always have garlic breath! You look great, I need to read your blog so I can remember to stay on track!

Broccoli Salad

My children have this thing for broccoli salad and they beg me to make it weekly. Every time I make it I become mom of the week around here which I happen to like! One would think that it might be odd for kids to love broccoli salad, and I am not necessarily thinking it is normal, but I do know it is pretty tasty. I decided for today's post to share my recipe. Beware, I am all about easy so don't expect something elaborate, and I cook for a crowd so if you want to make this adjust to your size of family. 1/2 package of broccoli florets from Costco (chopped) 1/2 red cabbage (shredded) 2 handfuls (or add to desired preference) of Craisins 2 handfuls (or add to desired preference) of real bacon bits 2 handfuls (or add to desired preference) of unsalted sunflower seeds 1/2 a bottle of Kraft Creamy Poppyseed Dressing Mix Seriously, if my kids scarf this salad down I promise most kids will.

Loving Moments

I had one of the most tender moments as a mother the other day. Somehow, as our family was sitting around the kitchen table talking, we got on the subject of who we would like to meet when we die. We all felt like there isn't anybody famous that we would even care to meet. We then started talking about biblical people. I said I would like to meet Noah, or Captain Moroni. I was sure that I am not the only one that wants to meet them, I'm sure they will be inundated with people wanting to meet them! Then Andrew got very solemn. He got very emotional as he said he would like to meet his Heavenly Mother. He then looked at me and said, if she was more amazing and glorious than me that he couldn't even imagine how incredible meeting her would be. He cried, I cried and we hugged a gentle, loving, mom and son hug.

day one.down for the count.

So in my typical fashion, I put a plan into action and then immediately have to deal with the changing of said plan. I went to bed dizzy last night hoping it was nothing and that it would pass as I slept. No such luck, this morning I got up and didn't stay up. So, three movies later I sit here on the couch with the best laid plans laid to rest. I was going to get up early, make breakfast, get dressed before 10, and send my honey off with a kiss and looks of devotion. Instead...Mark got up and I slept in, finally got up in time to stumble down the stairs, see the first set of kids off to school, and plant myself on the couch for the rest of the day. Mark gave me a kiss on his way out the door and instead of looks of devotion I had eyes welling with tears. Great day huh? Luckily I don't have any plans for today. Tomorrow isn't too bad, I don't have many responsibilities, but Friday I have an important photo shoot. This dizzy thing better go away!!!
