New Phone Love

We have been having the worst problems with Sprint. Constant missed phone calls and texts. To our benefit and relief Sprint changed conditions in our contract which made our current contract null and void. So, since we wouldn't be charged any cancellation fees we opted to change our phone service back over to Verizon, who I must say I love!!!

Mark got a hold of the corporate rep who cut us an incredible deal. Only one hundred dollars later we now have 2 new chocolate touches and 2 new droid phones. I was really hesitant about getting a phone with a data plan. First of all, it is more expensive. Second, I really didn't see that I had a need for one, that is, until Mark started explaining some of the benefits to having such a phone. Like syncing my ever increasing calendar. With as crazy as life is I started seeing a benefit to that one feature alone. Simplification is always my mantra and Mark promised simplification with a phone that has a data plan. So....I went for it!

Can I just say...WOW!!! I am so excited about my new phone I can hardly stand it. I have this application that keeps track of my Weight Watchers points. It even scans barcodes, recognizes the item and enters it into my food diary. I can sync my calendar with my Google calendar and even set appointments from my phone. Not only can I sync my calendar, but I can sync the rest of my family's calendar's too! I have an app that let's me listen to Pandora in my car. No more junky music on a radio that barely picks up signal, I can listen to my choice of music and not have to scan the stations.

Honestly, I have only touched the surface. This phone is absolutely amazing! I think, as funny as this is to say, this one simple change has impacted my life for the better....for-e-ver, for-e-ver, for-e-ver!

(Hee hee hee.)

What I Would Tell My Younger Self

Last week was a really tough week for our Bishop and family. First, my husband went out of town on business and it happened to overlap with our daughter and her babies visiting us. So, three days that she was here, he didn't get to see her. Then, he flew back into town Wed. around town and then we drove our daughter to the airport Thursday morning at 4:30. Yes, that is early, and yes, we did go back to bed when we got home. ;o) Then he worked all day Thursday and I will spare you the details but it was a bad day. His non-boss boss was in a foul mood and he got the brunt of it.  Thursday evening he had the yearly ward audit and didn't get home until close to 10. Friday was another fun filled day at work, and then Friday evening and Saturday were filled with youth conference which he attended and was a chaperone for during the entire event. Sunday was a rough "bishop" day that he couldn't talk about, and quite frankly, I didn't want to hear about.  That leads us...

Officially in the Limelight!

I had an interesting experience this evening. Without divulging more than I should, let's just say that I was told that people in my area are concerned that I have not kept my information about the stake changes private until the appropriate time. They were concerned that because I dated my blog post for the date of my writing some people thought that I had said something before the stake split announcement. Let me assure you that this isn't the case. I date my posts for the day that I write them but I didn't post them until Nov. 9th, the afternoon of the day of Stake conference. With that being said, this experience brought to my attention how much being a bishop's wife really is somewhat like being on show for everyone. Sometimes you are scrutinized and it is good, and sometimes it isn't so good.  I felt truly inspired to write and keep this blog so that people can get an idea of what a normal bishop's family is like. This however can be difficult because I ...
