Another First Day of School

Rachael-Senior

Andrew-Junior

Zach-7th Grade

Clairissa-5th Grade

Abby-3rd Grade

Here we are on the first day of school once again. I seriously do not understand how 3 months can go by so fast! I am sad that we didn't get to do as many fun things as I wanted to do. All the health issues definitely put a damper on that. With that being said we did go down to St. George twice, went on a hike up Pleasant Grove Canyon, went to the zoo, I went on dates with Andrew and Abby, and we attended 2 soccer tournament where Andrew's team took 4th place and 2nd place respectively. Not too bad.

Mostly my kids played at friends houses and Rachael and I spent time on the couch watching Reba reruns. I can say with all honestly that I am sooooo televisioned out!

I did decide on a color for my house. It is a warm tan color with yellow/red undertones. I love it and will hopefully have my project completed by Abby's baptism which is September 5th. I did not however get my cabinets painted. Maybe by the end of the year for that project. Sigh.

Oh, and might I add as a side note...I shed 2.2 pounds this last week. Yahoo!!! That trumps the paint project by miles!

What I Would Tell My Younger Self

Last week was a really tough week for our Bishop and family. First, my husband went out of town on business and it happened to overlap with our daughter and her babies visiting us. So, three days that she was here, he didn't get to see her. Then, he flew back into town Wed. around town and then we drove our daughter to the airport Thursday morning at 4:30. Yes, that is early, and yes, we did go back to bed when we got home. ;o) Then he worked all day Thursday and I will spare you the details but it was a bad day. His non-boss boss was in a foul mood and he got the brunt of it.  Thursday evening he had the yearly ward audit and didn't get home until close to 10. Friday was another fun filled day at work, and then Friday evening and Saturday were filled with youth conference which he attended and was a chaperone for during the entire event. Sunday was a rough "bishop" day that he couldn't talk about, and quite frankly, I didn't want to hear about.  That leads us...

Officially in the Limelight!

I had an interesting experience this evening. Without divulging more than I should, let's just say that I was told that people in my area are concerned that I have not kept my information about the stake changes private until the appropriate time. They were concerned that because I dated my blog post for the date of my writing some people thought that I had said something before the stake split announcement. Let me assure you that this isn't the case. I date my posts for the day that I write them but I didn't post them until Nov. 9th, the afternoon of the day of Stake conference. With that being said, this experience brought to my attention how much being a bishop's wife really is somewhat like being on show for everyone. Sometimes you are scrutinized and it is good, and sometimes it isn't so good.  I felt truly inspired to write and keep this blog so that people can get an idea of what a normal bishop's family is like. This however can be difficult because I ...
