Mark is officially miserable. Having been through gall bladder pain myself, I feel quite bad for him. It started last Thursday with ulcer/heart burn symptoms that Zantac did not help. By Friday morning he was in immense amounts of pain and by Friday night we were at the after hours clinic. Of course we should have gone in earlier because then Mark could have had the ct scan done Friday but, by the time we went in, everybody had left for the weekend so now Mark has to wait until sometime today or tomorrow. Poor guy. On the bright side of awful pain Mark has lost 8 pounds since Friday and at this point I don't think he will go back to the old way of eating because of the side effects. Really, it has been a good wake up call for all of us. A year after Rachael's gall bladder problems we have slowly gotten more lax about what we eat in our home so now that Mark and I have both had gall bladder attacks in the last month it motivates us to get back on the right track. You know how I am about needing a motivator of sorts and this was it.
With that being said, this morning I went walking with Jodi and Karen from my neighborhood. Can I just say wow? It is amazing how quickly our bodies can loose muscle and stamina when we don't exercise for a little while. My goal is to run with Heather from my street but I hear she runs fast and I can't run at all so I am thankful that she is still recovering from having a baby so that I have time to get back into some semblance of fit. Maybe if I start now I will be able to keep up with her as she gets going again after having a baby. That is so pathetic for me. No worries though, I have finally gotten started again. I am patting myself on the back for that.
The other fun thing in my life is that I got to go to the Gem and Bead Fair at the Southtowne Expo Center on Friday. I invited Rachel and Heather and we got babysitters and took some us time for a few hours. We were all really good and set a strict budget that we stuck too! Yeah us! We had so much fun looking and oogling over all of the beads and came home with some really cute stuff. So, if you see us wearing something cute in our ears or around our wrists it is probably because we were reinspired to get out our tools and be creative. The picture is a bracelet that I made Saturday night. How fun is that! :o)
