9th Weigh In

I hate to say it but after 9 weeks of weigh ins I think this is going to get really boring to read about. I need to start posting about something other than my weight. I have found that I got really lazy last week. I struggled to keep track of what I ate. A lot of that came from a week of constant on the go driving. Thursday afternoon I was actually in my kitchen having a snack and realized that I was actually home when it was light. Rachael had range last week from 6:30 to 8:30. Then there was cheer Mon. and Wed. from 4-6 and stunt group Wed. from 8-9. Mark and I also worked all weekend on a consulting project with a deadline that is looming. At this point everything else is a blur but all I can say is that I am exhausted!!! So, long story short, I didn't concentrate on writing down what I was eating. I think I did alright on my points. Not the best week but not terrible. With all of that being said I lost .4 of a pound last week. Disappointing but still in the right direction.

I am having a tough time mentally right now. I just don't want to have to stress about what goes in my mouth. I know that I am a stress eater so it is a good thing I am watching what I am eating right now. I am recommitting this week to measuring what I eat and writing everything down. I also need to find time for exercise. I know I have said it before but I know that would help me I just need time to do it.

Pushed to the Limits Sometimes

I have been pretty overwhelmed lately. Actually it seems to be a recurring theme in my life that I am not very pleased about. I tend to wonder why it is that I get into situations where I feel overwhelmed. I question my ability to put my life in the right perspective. So, next week in particular is going to be beastly! My larger roles will include....teacher, preschool teacher, employee (24 hours next week), mother, maid, and cook. The problem is that I don't feel like I am excelling at any of them. For instance Zach. He needs me to be a great teacher, to give him my best and most undivided attention. Instead I am giving my all to stay awake and the rest goes to him and Jillian.

Loving Moments

I had one of the most tender moments as a mother the other day. Somehow, as our family was sitting around the kitchen table talking, we got on the subject of who we would like to meet when we die. We all felt like there isn't anybody famous that we would even care to meet. We then started talking about biblical people. I said I would like to meet Noah, or Captain Moroni. I was sure that I am not the only one that wants to meet them, I'm sure they will be inundated with people wanting to meet them! Then Andrew got very solemn. He got very emotional as he said he would like to meet his Heavenly Mother. He then looked at me and said, if she was more amazing and glorious than me that he couldn't even imagine how incredible meeting her would be. He cried, I cried and we hugged a gentle, loving, mom and son hug.

Broccoli Salad

My children have this thing for broccoli salad and they beg me to make it weekly. Every time I make it I become mom of the week around here which I happen to like! One would think that it might be odd for kids to love broccoli salad, and I am not necessarily thinking it is normal, but I do know it is pretty tasty. I decided for today's post to share my recipe. Beware, I am all about easy so don't expect something elaborate, and I cook for a crowd so if you want to make this adjust to your size of family. 1/2 package of broccoli florets from Costco (chopped) 1/2 red cabbage (shredded) 2 handfuls (or add to desired preference) of Craisins 2 handfuls (or add to desired preference) of real bacon bits 2 handfuls (or add to desired preference) of unsalted sunflower seeds 1/2 a bottle of Kraft Creamy Poppyseed Dressing Mix Seriously, if my kids scarf this salad down I promise most kids will.
