100 things about me part 4

75. I love candles. Candles around a bathtub, candles at dinner, candles to scent my house, candle light dancing, etc., etc.
76. I love romance, and I am talking about the sweet clean beautiful romance. Like Pride and Prejudice. Those romantic moments that make you melt but don't make you feel dirty for watching them.
77. I love real life romance as well, things like dancing to our own music half way through doing the dishes, or picnicking at the waterfall up Sundance canyon, or stealing loving glances over our children's heads as they chat with us about their day.
78. I hate politics. Really, it fascinates me except that I see things that are so wrong and I can't do anything about it and then I get really fired up so I choose to ignore what is going on instead of being ornery.
79. I hate the news for the same reason.
80. TV bores me and yet I watch it anyway. I used to have a lot of favorite shows but time and raunchiness has changed things. My favorite show is now probably HGTV's Design Star.
81. I love old shows like Perry Mason, Matlock, and Columbo
82. M-I-C, see you next time, K-E-Y, why because we love you, M-O-U-S-E. Ah, the good old days.
83. I think I was born in the wrong era.
84. I am the oldest in my family and the 4th. Complicated story.
85. If I could live anywhere I would live here. Ok, maybe not right here but across the freeway in American Fork, but I love Utah.
86. I love Hello Kitty! Probably has to do with my want as a child that I never got, but nonetheless, Hello Kitty is still cool in my book.
87. I love gum!!! In fact, I have a serious addiction to popping my gum. The other day in church I got the look from my daughter because she could hear me popping my gum from the row in front of me. Oops!
88. I love shoes. If I was to say I had one area that shows my rebelliousness it would be shoes. Just look at my feet sometime at church. Nylons? Nope. Sassy Heals? You bet. I am working on that.
89. When I was a child I loved climbing trees, the big oak trees in my backyard were my favorite.
90. I also used to collect rocks.
91. I mourn for my children's loss of freedom to be children. When I was a child we would spend all day everyday exploring the acres upon acres of fields, hills and streams in my backyard. I wouldn't dare let my children roam like I did.
92. I fry in the sun. Have you heard the term red as a lobster? Yep, that's me. 1 beach, 10 hours, limited sunscreen...got the picture yet?
93. I didn't have a real job until after I got married. The only thing I did to make money was to babysit which was few and far between the older I got.
94. I didn't dye my hair for the first time until 2002. I thought Mark would die and instead he LOVED it!
95. My hair is currently au natural. People ask me all the time if I have died my hair but nope, it just does it's own thing.
96. I only wear mascara most of the time. Ok, and a little lip gloss.
97. I love fake nails!!!
98. I am considered the rebel in my family.
99. I love my husband, I love him, I love him, I love him.
100. Fiber 1 bars give me gas. :o(

What I Would Tell My Younger Self

Last week was a really tough week for our Bishop and family. First, my husband went out of town on business and it happened to overlap with our daughter and her babies visiting us. So, three days that she was here, he didn't get to see her. Then, he flew back into town Wed. around town and then we drove our daughter to the airport Thursday morning at 4:30. Yes, that is early, and yes, we did go back to bed when we got home. ;o) Then he worked all day Thursday and I will spare you the details but it was a bad day. His non-boss boss was in a foul mood and he got the brunt of it.  Thursday evening he had the yearly ward audit and didn't get home until close to 10. Friday was another fun filled day at work, and then Friday evening and Saturday were filled with youth conference which he attended and was a chaperone for during the entire event. Sunday was a rough "bishop" day that he couldn't talk about, and quite frankly, I didn't want to hear about.  That leads us...

Officially in the Limelight!

I had an interesting experience this evening. Without divulging more than I should, let's just say that I was told that people in my area are concerned that I have not kept my information about the stake changes private until the appropriate time. They were concerned that because I dated my blog post for the date of my writing some people thought that I had said something before the stake split announcement. Let me assure you that this isn't the case. I date my posts for the day that I write them but I didn't post them until Nov. 9th, the afternoon of the day of Stake conference. With that being said, this experience brought to my attention how much being a bishop's wife really is somewhat like being on show for everyone. Sometimes you are scrutinized and it is good, and sometimes it isn't so good.  I felt truly inspired to write and keep this blog so that people can get an idea of what a normal bishop's family is like. This however can be difficult because I ...
