Monday Blues

I hate Mondays. I think it has something to do with a week of work ahead of me. With 6 kids the homework is overwhelming and then there are all the places to be, appointments to keep, etc. It makes me tired to look at the calendar for the week. So, who knows why but here I am on a Monday morning feeling particularly ornery. I think I need a change of attitude. Surely, Monday can't be as bad as I have made it out to be. Ok, so on that thought I am going to list good things about Monday.

1. The kids are gone so I can get the house picked back up after the weekend.
2. I didn't get sick so I could go to the gym this morning.
(I am stretching it, this is harder than I thought)
3. Ah, the house is quiet for a moment (see number 1)
4. New week new opportunity for growth?
5. ?

Alright, I think I am done for now. On to the next thought.

Have you noticed that Drew Carey is such a nerd? The morning news just ended as I am sitting here writing and The Price is Right show just came on. So, Drew Carey is the new host and I can't believe he ever got to star status. Bob Barker at least had a presence of refinement about him. And, I can't believe with my memory that I just pulled Bob Barker's name out of my head. Shocker! I do need to clarify though that I don't watch The Price is Right. Boring!

So, I am going to start my day now and my goal for today is to work on being positive. Wish me luck.

Cute header! I agree that I have a love/hate relationship with Mondays! I hate that my house is a disaster after the weekend, but I love getting it clean and back in order! And the semi quiet part- someday!!!

What I Would Tell My Younger Self

Last week was a really tough week for our Bishop and family. First, my husband went out of town on business and it happened to overlap with our daughter and her babies visiting us. So, three days that she was here, he didn't get to see her. Then, he flew back into town Wed. around town and then we drove our daughter to the airport Thursday morning at 4:30. Yes, that is early, and yes, we did go back to bed when we got home. ;o) Then he worked all day Thursday and I will spare you the details but it was a bad day. His non-boss boss was in a foul mood and he got the brunt of it.  Thursday evening he had the yearly ward audit and didn't get home until close to 10. Friday was another fun filled day at work, and then Friday evening and Saturday were filled with youth conference which he attended and was a chaperone for during the entire event. Sunday was a rough "bishop" day that he couldn't talk about, and quite frankly, I didn't want to hear about.  That leads us...

Officially in the Limelight!

I had an interesting experience this evening. Without divulging more than I should, let's just say that I was told that people in my area are concerned that I have not kept my information about the stake changes private until the appropriate time. They were concerned that because I dated my blog post for the date of my writing some people thought that I had said something before the stake split announcement. Let me assure you that this isn't the case. I date my posts for the day that I write them but I didn't post them until Nov. 9th, the afternoon of the day of Stake conference. With that being said, this experience brought to my attention how much being a bishop's wife really is somewhat like being on show for everyone. Sometimes you are scrutinized and it is good, and sometimes it isn't so good.  I felt truly inspired to write and keep this blog so that people can get an idea of what a normal bishop's family is like. This however can be difficult because I ...

Gratitude

I know I am a litle late on this one but I haven't had a moment to write anthing until now. I am grateful for so much this year. My job at Costco The incredible people I have been able to meet at Costco who I now call friends My sweet, cute, adorable children My wonderful, amazing, hard working, handsome husband The roof over my head The groceries in my cubboard Our second vehicle which gets 40mpg! My amazing parents and their example to me My siblings, neices, and nephews My extended family The restored gospel of Jesus Christ My relationship with my Savior and my knowledge of the Atonement My health The friends that have come into my life and changed me for the better Life I thank my Heavenly Father daily for the tender mercies he has given me and for the abundant blessings that he has bestowed upon me. Life is truly wonderful, and even more wonderful when I recognize how wonderful it really is!
